What should my review look like?
6th & 7th Grade, Data 6th Grade
You should have two sentences: the first should summarize the book and the second should give your opinion.
Example: This book is about dog breeds around the world. It has a lot of very interesting facts but I wish it had more pictures.
8th Grade
You should have three sentences: the first two should summarize the book and the third should give your opinion, using an example from the text.
Example: This book is about dog breeds around the world. It talks about what they look like, how they behave, and what they were bred for. I really liked all the facts I learned--for example, a bloodhound's sense of smell can be used as evidence in court.
Data 7th & 8th Grade
You should have four sentences: the first two should summarize the book and the third should give your opinion. The fourth should give evidence supporting your opinion, or give more detail about the book.
Example: This book is about dog breeds around the world. It talks about what they look like, how they behave, and what they were bred for. I really liked all the facts I learned--for example, a bloodhound's sense of smell can be used as evidence in court.
I like that the facts are given in bullet points because it makes it easy to read.
